Young Mom Realizes Life Verse Is Actually From A TobyMac #SpeakLife Meme

Linda Gregor is a busy mom who, like many moms, takes great delight in caring for her children, though with it comes struggles, ups and downs.  When discouragement sets in, Linda has found great comfort in turning to the uplifting and pithy #SpeakLife quotes.  "There are a lot of things out there like this, but these are the best.  They have been a real Godsend to me; just the trick to lift my spirits.  Sometimes I read one and it's like exactly what I was needing to hear.  I don't really have time to read the Bible, but someone out there does.  For that I am thankful.  They are basically truths from the Bible, but just condensed down for people like me who just don't have time to linger.

Linda has utilized some of her free time, albeit a rarity, by categorizing her favorites into "types of struggles" for her time of need.  She is wanting to start a "Busy Moms Speak Life" group to discuss them with other busy moms.  With the various struggles such as pain, sadness, loss, or tiredness, she tells us, "There is a quote for about everything you can think of! One of these is my life verse.  I say that because for the longest time I thought it was actually just the perfect little Bible verse.  Turns out it was a Speak Life quote that I had just forgotten to categorize.  I'm sure it's in the Bible somewhere anyways, so not a big deal.  It's just not as well summarized as these are--like I said, condensed."

That life verse Linda is referring to says, "Focusing on the negative only makes a difficult journey more difficult."  Commenting on the verse, she told us, "Negativity--I ain't got time for that!  The world is full of all kinds of energy, and we should help keep it positive," she told us.  "I think about this quote often.  When I'm starting my day it's a good reminder, or in the middle of the day if I get stressed out... hey, why make it harder than it needs to be?  I don't know where I'd be without these.  They say 'speak life', and I think they really do."

We asked Linda if she was familiar with Jesus' sermon on the mount where He specifically addresses worry, and God's provision.  We pulled up the verses Matthew 6:25-34 on a phone to show her, but her eyes just got real big as she took a deep breath and told us, "Wow, well see, I want to read all that but this is the sort of thing I really need summarized.  I'm a busy mom.  Maybe another time.  I gotta go."  We could see she was just in the middle of pulling up her Facebook application on her phone as she walked away, probably just barely squeezing in the right pithy quote needed to keep her on the go.  #MomLife

Kendallville, IN A local church has a group of young people experimenting with "new things", and it has caused somewhat of a stir within the church at first.  They are looking to embrace, or create new songs that are not found within the church's sacred Hymnal texts.
